Founded in 1910, it has been held in nearly two dozen cities, and since 2001 has been held in Houston, Texas. It is the only remaining ATP Tour-level tournament in the United States to be played on clay courts.



Seven was American Jenson Brooksby’s lucky number this week at River Oaks. The qualifying wildcard entrant, ranked No. 507 at the beginning of the week, won seven consecutive matches, defeating each of the top three seeds on his way to the championship: No. 1 Paul, No. 2 Tiafoe, and No. 3 Tabilo.
